Privacy policy
Effective November 7, 2026.
Singlet is made by 42 Golems (the "developer", "we"). Most Singlet users are young athletes and their families, so the default is private. This page explains what the app does with data.
The short version
- No ads, no third-party tracking, and we never sell data.
- Your matches, scores, stats and notes live on your device.
- Your original video stays in your own Photos library.
- Video leaves your phone only if you turn on Pro backup or create a share link.
- No public profiles, feed or messaging.
What stays on your device
Athlete profiles, matches, scoring events, opponents, notes and weight logs are stored in the app on your iPhone. Names, schools and stats are not sent to our servers.
Account
You can use the free app without an account. We ask you to sign in with Apple only when you use backup, sharing or linked profiles. We store Apple's user identifier for your account, your subscription status, and your role on any athlete profile you belong to. We do not receive your Apple password.
Video
Recording and import use your camera, microphone and Photos permissions. Singlet saves your original video to your Photos library and keeps a reference to it. If you turn on Pro backup, the app creates a smaller copy and uploads it to our cloud storage. Stored files use random identifiers, with no names in them.
Share links
A share link opens a private page with the video you chose and what you chose to show. Links use long random tokens, are not indexed by search engines, expire after a default of 90 days, and can be revoked at any time. The owner can see how many times a link was viewed. Every shared page has a Report link, and reported videos are disabled while we review them. We keep share-view logs for 30 days.
Optional usage counts
Singlet has a setting called Share usage counts. When it is on, the app sends once a day how many matches you scored and how many had video, along with your backup account. It never sends names, scores, opponents, video, or anything from profiles that could belong to a child under 13.
Children
An athlete under 13 must have a profile managed by a parent or guardian. The app does not ask a child under 13 to sign in or create an account, and does not show ads or collect data for tracking. Teens 13 and older may manage their own profile and can link a parent.
Who we share data with
We use Apple for sign in, payments, iCloud and Photos, and Cloudflare to host our servers and store backed-up video. These providers process data only to provide those services to us. We do not sell or rent personal information and we do not share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Backed-up video is kept while your Pro subscription is active, plus a 90-day grace period after it lapses. We remind you before it is removed.
- If you delete an athlete or your account, we delete the related cloud video and revoke share links within 30 days.
- Videos in your Photos library are never deleted by Singlet.
Your choices
You can export your data from Settings, delete athletes, revoke share links, and turn off usage counts at any time. For other requests, including access or deletion, write to [email protected]. Parents and guardians can contact us about a child's data at the same address.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest in our cloud storage. No system is perfectly secure, so we keep what we store to the minimum the features need.
Changes
If this policy changes in a material way, we will update the date above and tell you in the app.
